Well here we are again - been a while but all good.
Have got a post to make which is sitting on pen drive and will be on here on the next few days but in the meantime....
Well most of shopping is now done and things coming together. The locksmith is coming round next thurs to change the locks and the mattress is arriving then too. Planning to move most of stuff over thurs evening and maybe even spend the first night there then too - J is back on Friday morning so keen to get most stuffed moved out before he returns.
Also slight hiccup - forgot to order fridge freezer - a minor detail (tee hee) but am sure is all doable.
Went out Friday evening with L for an amazing meal in St Kilda and had a good ole catch up. Food was well impressive, including a lovely baked trout.
Sat flew to Sydney - flight was booked for 10.30 and takes an hour and thought would arrive in good time to meet guys for lunch in Surry Hills. However is was delayed an hour - mechanical problems apparently (reassuring me thought that they had got them fixed) - still the kind qantas lady reassured me that the plane was in the air and that all would be fine!
After lunch with the guys in Surry Hills - went over to meet up with Mr C and then took bags to Hughenden Hotel where am staying - stuffed up a bit on the location as thought it was on the bottom of Oxford Street but was actually on the top which is over half an hour the over end - at the top of the hill! However when got there was well chuffed - the place is drowning in history and nostalgia - very twee - and is named after the country home of Disraeli - which I had visited before I came over here - spooky but true.
Went to Balkan restaurant in the evening - lots of meet and a couple of lettuce leaves for salad and then a beer and then to bed.
This morning was woken by a monsoon which thankfully stopped after about half an hour. Went out and, after going in completely the wrong direction, found myself at circular quay. Was very atmospheric with low cloud - took a couple of photos of the harbour bridge and the opera house but it started raining again - so gave up after a few mins and went off to tourist info centre and then onto comfy tourist bus for a tour round Sydney. Was pretty useful as it helpful me tie up where all the different landmarks were in relation to each other - had previously visited a fair few but not actually sussed out whether was in the north of the city, south or in the water in the middle of the harbour (that was a joke by the way).
Met up with another mate from last weekend, lets call him B, and C came along too having had a rather long nite at Fox Studios for some food and then across the road for coffee.
More rain this evening - C has gone off to another (!) club - I have left him to it as the music was a bit too thud thud for my liking and here I am - but not for long as am getting peckish and need to sus out Blue Mountains for tomorrow.
On job front progress is being made, got over half a dozen applications in, and possibility of doing some temp work for one of the government departments in the short term. Am gonna to make another push next week once have moved in a sussed out some other agencies and avenues as I can see myself becoming used to this life of leisure and that would be hard too give up if I pursued it for much longer.
So ttfn - the next post may be a bit confusing at it will be out of synch but hey am sure it will be interesting! Hasta luego
